Flower Power

dress ... Victoria's Secret
cardigan ... Abercrombie & Fitch
shoes ... Lucky Brand; Macy's

necklace ... mining museum gift shop

I'm feeling really good about this summer. I don't remember the last time I could sleep in until ridiculous hours, then get up and watch stupid reality tv shows, and then do it all over again the next day. I also get to go to flea markets, go to the beach, go basically anywhere. It's a refreshing ability.

A little bit about the outfit... I love that sparkly stone necklace. I picked it up when I worked at a summer camp last year; we went to an old mine. It was actually the mine used in Zoolander, fun fact of the day.

The cardi I typically wear as a belt more than anything. The sleeves are so long I can tie it into a bow. It's much much too hot for sweaters anyway.

Make up wise, I've adopted very basic neutral looks. I used to do the whole shebang, eyes cheeks lips and then some. My skin rioted, and now that it's recovered I'm much more careful. Pink lips and a light shimmer on the eyes, with a swipe of mascara, and then a swish of blush.

That's that. I'm in the mood to blog. It was months in the making, and now I finally feel the true motivation.

Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect After Sun Lotion and Sheer Touch Lotion Sunscreen Review

Images courtesy of Google.

A few weeks ago, the boy and I went to the Bamboozle. We saw Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance, The Foo Fighters, among others. It was a really fun time relaxing on the beach and watching some awesome bands. I digress.

While I was there, the Hawaiian Tropic kiosk proceeded to dump a ton of samples of sunscreen and after sun lotion into my hands. Me, being a sample/freebie junkie, gladly accepted the pile. I had made my score of loot for the night :)

I grabbed the samples of sun screen (yellow bottle) and headed to the beach with a friend a few days later. It was easy to apply, not too thin, not too creamy. What I really enjoyed was the scent. It smelt truly.. tropic. I lathered it on and was good to go.

Of course, I personally cannot go to the beach without burning a bit here and there, so I put the after sun lotion to use as well. I don't think you have to be burned to use the after sun lotion, but I always make sure to use something, the best always being aloe. This after sun lotion made me feel pampered if anything. It didn't leave a shimmer on my legs, as much as they just had a glowing sheen, if that makes any sense. The smell was brilliant. Coconut papaya is a great combination, again keeping with that tropical theme. If the lotion had my aloe in it, I'd be sold.

Worth buying ? If I was in the market for a sun screen, perhaps. It smelt really nice and the bottles are quite pretty. The after sun also smelt amazing as I said, and would be a nice addition to my CVS Aloe After Sun.

Stay safe out in those rays ! Apply and apply again !

Beauty Tag

A long, LONG, time ago. I was tagged in a beauty questionnaire by my lovely friend Lindsl. Me, taking forever to do anything, never quite got around to doing it until now.

Let's get started. :)

1) What is your favorite part about blogging?
I love using different make up brands and products, and not all of them end up being good. We all deserve to be informed about the best of the best, and the worst of the worst. I'm here to let you know before you make a beauty purchase mistake.
More than my love of make up, is my love of clothing. OOTDs are definitely my favorite things to post. Every piece of clothing in my closet I cherish, from my embellished vintage tank to my ratty denim cutoffs. Putting outfits together is like a puzzle, and getting inspired by other blogs and magazines makes it a never-ending challenge. Love love love it.

2) Is there something you dislike about blogging?
Layout fumbling. I'm pretty good with computers and internet and whatnot, but trying to edit the layout is such a fracking drag. I'm still trying to figure it out, and it always ends in frustrated defeat. If anyone knows any good layout learning sites, let me know !

3) What are your favorite types of posts to read?
Definitely OOTDs. As previously stated, my love of clothing is everywhere. Looking at other people's OOTDs and how they style things helps me constantly try new things myself. I also get to find out what's trending, and what I should be wishing for next. #jefferycambellbooties #snoods #studdedeverything
4) What's your favorite post from your own blog?
Hm... this one I guess. I don't have any super favourites, although I want to do a room makeover post, which will allow me to show my biggest accomplishment. I like that post because that's one of my favourite OOTD's. That Givenchy cover up (vintage from grandma) is my pride and joy. I wrote that out in Cali as well, my future home someday somehow.

5) Which beauty product do you want to purchase due to reading another persons blog?
Due to reading another person's blog... I have quite a few things ! I wish I could have a Glossy Box (first seen on her blog), but since I don't live in the UK, it cannot happen at the moment. Instead I wish to invest in the Birch Box (first seen on her Youtube channel). The idea of getting a bunch of random high end samples for a pretty good price sounds like Christmas twelve months a year.
Additionally, these cool doggy nail polish stickers (found from this blogger), and I know want some L'Agent Provacateur beauty and bath products now that I saw them on here.

I tag everyone that reads this ! Let's get some opinions, they make the world go round.
Until next time. <3

Cover Girl Blast Flipstick Lip Stick review

Out of all the colours in this collection, this combination is the most attractive looking to me. The different colours makes it more worth the money for sure versus the other duos where the colour is two similar. Yes they're pretty, but the contrast this colour supplies is really pretty worn together, or just each on their own.
The packaging is pretty, and I like how the colour of the packaging fades into the colour of the lipstick on each side.
Now, the over all consistency once I put the colours on...
I have very few lipsticks that I am pleased with once I put them on my lips. Maybe I'm not prepping correctly, but except for my M.A.C. and my Chanel lipsticks, all of my others just don't settle correctly. They look chunky and begin to turn pasty in only a short while.
This Cover Girl lip colour was alright. There seem to be big sparkly bits in the colour that, when it begins to become pasty on my lips, I can clearly see. Yes, it looks very nice when I put either or both on. They blend very nicely with each other, or look gorgeous on their own. I prefer the red alone than the gold, based on my skin tone.
The verdict ? It was worth the purchase. I don't know if I'd buy any of the others, and the consistency is only average, but the colours are a great combination, and the shine when I first apply it is very attractive.

Some drugstore purchase reviews...

2 dollars
99 centaroonees
I'm a pretty budget savvy person, let me tell you. I love designer make up, I love one-of-a-kind vintage finds. I love nice clothing and jewelry and such. All of these things come at a price. Because I'm saving money for all these things, plus things that I might actually need, like gasoline and daily necessities, it's important to know what to save on versus what to splurge on. In my opinion, all shampoos and conditioners, body washes, and antiperspirants do essentially the same thing. While some people need specialty items, most of us could be saving our money for better purchases than just a 25 dollar bottle of shampoo.

Now that I'm older, and I see that money doesn't grow on trees and cannot just be thrown about towards everything, I try to buy literally the cheapest bathroom essentials possible. By doing such, I can buy that pretty - and pricey - dress, along with a bag and a pair of shoes. Believe me, basic beauty items should not be splurged on. I'm reviewing these two as examples.

The first is the Mitchum deodorant. It's nothing special, just a powdery scent. Do we really need that amazing zesty fresh this or floral fruity that ? Who's going to notice, because I never do. It was the cheapest deodorant I could find, and it's served its purpose quite well. Plus it's a roll-on. Roll-ons last the longest since you're applying less for the same effect. Worth it price-wise. Deodorant is deodorant, so please don't spend more than you have to !

This conditioner is actually one of my favorite products I've been using. It smells amazing, and the scent lasts until the next use. I don't wash my hair every day, so it truly is long-lasting. Plus, it claims to be great for colored hair. I dabble in hair color, so that's always a plus for me. I will likely buy this again, or maybe a different scent. For only a dollar, it's completely worth it.

Stay budget savvy !

Black Mamba

coat ... George, motorcycle expo.
sweater ... Victoria's Secret Pink
shoes ... Lucky Brand

I desperately need a new tripod. For now, the camera sits on a wooden post trying it's best to work with me.

I've died my ends purple, but the end result was so shoddy that I needn't bother photographing it for anyone. I have bigger, better plans for my hairs ... after prom. There will be silver and purple and goodness and things.

I'm extremely excited for my prommy mcpromster this weekend, hopefully I'll get some shots of me and the boy to show the world. I've got my make up picked out already; metallic colors to go with my sparkly gold dress and silver shoes and accessories. My hair, however, is still a mystery. I want it up for sure; it's my time to feel like a princess. What updo I want is the problem. I'm thinking a pretty teased chignon, but then I want to take the safe braided boho route. Decisions decisions !

I have so many reviews to do that I'm overwhelmed, but I feel like a finally might have found my purpose. I love to love my opinion, that's for sure. And I love make up, that's for sure. I've got lipsticks, eye shadows, nail polish, hair styling products... the list is endless.

Taking the AP exam today took the life and mentality out of me, I feel like I just rambled to you all. I just have so many different things to say, rarely does it ever make sense. :)

M. A. C. Viva La Glam Lipstick Review

M.A.C. lip colour in Viva Glam Gaga

My boyfriend knows how much I love Gaga, and he knows how much I love make up, and he for some reason decides to support my obsessions. In addition to buying my first M. A. C. pallet, he bought me this Viva La Glam lipstick. I don't even know where or how he got it, as the new one is already out meaning this one is no longer being sold. Anyhow I was ecstatic, and after continuous, now I have to share my opinion.

When I first removed it from its packaging, I felt as if I was holding some holy device. I love the design and the shiny pink signature they adorn it with. Almost as if Gaga hand-signed it... right. After I removed the cap and examined the color, I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. The colour looks great on the advert for it, but in person it seemed too nude. The smell is wonderful though for a lipstick.

I wore it multiple times trying to get a feel for it and see what it looks best with. The conclusion for me is that it definitely needs a strong eye. I went with a natural look most of the time, but a defined natural eye, if that's even possible.

Would I buy this again ? If it wasn't for Lady Gaga's design on the packaging, I'm not too keen on this nude. It's not the most flattering, at least for my tone. It also creases on the sides of my lips. Not sure if all M.A.C. lipsticks do this, but it was kind of icky to see the corners of my mouth harboring pasty lipstick residue. It does photograph quite well, in my opinion.

Must go to sleep. This is the first time my boyfriend has fallen asleep before me as well, what a feat !
