Pretty Young Thing

Blazer ... Salvation Army
Tank Top ... Rock & Republic, Kohl's
Pants ... H&M
Shoes ... Zara

Well I've definitely been AWOL for a while... Finals. End of freshman year. Boys. Friends. Working. SUMMER. :)

I don't have much to say... Other than hello again. I don't know how regularly I'll be posting... I need a tripod that works, or a friend who I don't get camera shy in front of. It's a struggle.

I'll be spending my summer peacefully: watching Netflix, working at my local restaurant, and trying to have a happy few months before I go back to school. The goal for this summer isn't to try and work and make money and fill my time with activities, although all of those things can be helpful and joyful. The goal for me is to just feel... whole, and happy. However that is achieved. Right now, happiness for me is... Listening to The National, watching Gossip Girl, and sipping on tea. I hope you all are having a glorious beginning to your summers; don't work too hard! The goal is to have fun while you can. :)

The World is Black

blazer ... Gap
blouse ... H&M
shorts ... thrifted, Abercrombie&Fitch
brogues ... Topshop

Just enjoyed a nice bowl of yogurt with chopped bananas, and a little cup of coffee. I'm going to work out, play my 3DS, and then get ready to go to Atlantic City for the night. A wonderful wonderful two weeks I've had so far ! Some time next week I plan to make a Salvation Army trip and post some more looks, CURRENT looks. Yes ladies and gents I'm officially caught up. After this final summer time look that I took the day before going to school, I'll be posting looks that I actually photographed within the past few days. A miracle ! I have some cheeky reviews as well. Yay for blogging ! Being swamped with schoolwork for the past few months made me forget how much I love writing. I can only improve my skills from here, and this will surely help me with school writing as well. Write as much as you can about anything and everything folks, it does nothing but help your brain, especially when it is quite clogged with too many thoughts like mine :)

So, the last summer outfit... Simple, yet stylish. The black and white is a classic pairing, and color-blocking is something I'm definitely a fan of. The shirt is difficult to see, but it is textured and slightly liquid looking. At first I thought this was cheap looking, but of course after seeing it everywhere it began to grow on me. It has a nice slinky fit that is flattering to curves despite the baggy fit. The shoes are a favourite pair of mine. I purchased them on my first trip to England a few years ago. The studding takes these brogues from average it intricate and interesting ! I am a bug fan of studs, so when I saw them on sale in Topshop, I was sold !

High schoolers and younger, your break is almost over, and I hope it was a wonderful one ! College and above, we have a little while left, so make the most of it ! Purchase those things you've been wanting with the money you got as gifts. Put some away for saving yes, but treat yourself as well ! I bought a leather skater skirt and a lacy long-sleeve minidress, what about you ?

California Here I Come

epic beast cat

cropped tank ... H&M
floral shorts ... eBay (Free People)
pink bracelet ... Links of London

Today was the first day in a long time that I was able to sleep in. It was glorious. Today also happened to be my nineteenth birthday. As much as I wish I could have spent it in New York with my college friends. It was quite nice to spend time home with my family whom I have not seen in almost two months. I saw Skyfall, and ate a our local, very yummy, sea food restaurant. Mexican Salad with lobster, yum yum ! It's so nice to be able to relax, and have absolutely nothing to do. I don't remember feeling like this since I was just a little girl, before the school work began to pile on. A truly peaceful feeling.

Outfit isn't from today... although I did photograph my birthday outfit. I liked it quite a lot and I cannot wait to post it up ! My local Bronx thrift store has been quite good to me. Anywho, these shorts are my best ebay find ever. There was absolutely no way I was buying them for full price. As much as I absolutely love Free People - their catalogues are so beautiful inspiring - their clothing is ridiculously expensive. When I found these shorts on eBay, I couldn't believe it. They were twenty dollars cheaper, and suddenly only in the slightly pricey range rather than costing an arm and a leg. I was instantly sold. Although I was nervous about whether or not it would be the real product, I was lucky enough to open the package and have beautiful floral cut-off Free People shorts in my hands ! A wonderful online shopping/eBay experience. :)

I am currently watching the Grinch, and tumbling away. Free to do what I please. Sighs of happiness coming from over here. :)

Uncle Sam

blazer ... charity shop
shirt ... vintage (mom's)
pants ... H&M
shoes ... Candie's, Kohl's.

I'm here I'm here ! Aloha from Huntington Beach, California. For the next two weeks I will be in my personal paradise. I have a little list of things I want to do, but most mornings I will hopefully be sitting here in my aunt's beyond lovely kitchen blogging away. I don't really have any pictures as I've only just landed, but by tonight I should have some nice shots. It's such a wonderful place and I'm desperate to call it my home someday.

As for the outfit, this is obviously not Californian; I have quite a few outfit of the day posts to catch up on, but I'm getting there :)

I wore this for some patriotic holiday a while ago. I didn't even mean to wear it for patriotic purposes, it kind of just happened, as always does with me.

The blazer is a very cool vintage piece. I refuse to take shoulder pads out of anything old I buy, and I love the exaggerated shoulders anyhow. It is becoming popular again as far as I've seen.

The pants are actually made of cotton. I've been wanting - and still want - white denim. I saw these in H&M, and they fit really nicely, so they are doing the job until I get my white denim. The one issue is they are extremely see through in the sense that nude panties are an absolute must, and should I ever get wet in them... we just won't talk about that.

Lastly are my shoesies. One of my favourite pairs, I love the cut of the straps; they're very edgy and sleek.

On a final note. The opening ceremony was pretty amazing. Beijing's is my personal favorite for its choreography and precision, but the message of this ceremony was timeless and touching, almost brought a tear to my eye.

Now I'm going to go exercise before doing some grocery shopping with my aunt. We have to pick up Italian goods for pizza night !

Forever 21 and a bit of H&M haul. Oh, and American Eagle too !

When my friends and I took our little trip to the lovely NYC, we of course had to do a bit of shopping... How can one resist? Forever 21 was a must-go, considering how massive it is. We nearly missed HowToSucceed. H&m also is one I always like to go to in the city, since the one we have near us is... limited at best in the items they have. Without further ado...

H&M ... $29.95
I'm always the last girl to get on the trend wagon. Example. This peterpan collar dress. I absolutely adore the collar. The problem with this dress is it fits my waist and hips perfectly, but my chest is too... chesty. I couldn't not buy it though :( I'll bondage down my lovely ladies just to wear this, it's such a lovely colour and style.

Love 21 (Forever 21) ... $24.80
Looking at the price now, I think that is a bit ridiculous. I usually swear by the sale rack, so I honestly don't know what I was thinking. It is a pretty blouse though, and it'll look lovely tucked in shorts or flowing over jeans.

Forever 21 ... $8.80
I don't have a nice variety of jewelry yet, and this seemed like a nice basic piece. I love the braided bit at the top; it'll go nicely with casual or formal wear.

American Eagle ... $24.95
So... since I want a career in fashion, I figured a book about it couldn't hurt. It has a list of schools to consider which is particularly helpful

Forever 21 ...
Because every fashion blogger needs a nice floppy hat.

Failed to be caught on film were a pair of black denim shorts (Forever 21 ... $19.80) and a pair of sunnies (H&M ... on sale for $3). I suppose you'll see them in an outfit post sooner or later. ;)

So that's that... I have lots of outfit posts to do, but I should probs get some sleep. I'm only going to get... 2 and a half hours of sleep. Brillz.

H&M, consignment shop, and some beauty buys.

black skirt, (diy) H&M, on sale for $15.00
skirt, H&M
graphic pants, H&M
shorts, vintage The Limited, consignment shop
dresss, vintage, consignment shop
striped top, vintage, consignment shop
bracelet, vintage Lucky Brand (?), consignment shop
necklace, boutique purchase $20.00
bag, vintage Dooney and Bourke, consignment shop, on sale for $20.00
beauty: Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Collide-O-Scope, Pantene Straighten & Smooth Creme for Medium-Thick Hair, John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight Styling Spray. (Harmon Beauty Supply for the nail appliques, Walmart for the hair products)

So as you can see I've went a little spend crazy. And as of now I have a few other haul posts to type up. But one at a time!
The black skirt I was inspired by in this post, so when I saw one like it in H&M sans the short inside lining, I made a purchase! And then I simply cut short the inside lining to my liking. I've even kept the black ring of cloth that was the bottom of the lining to use as a slinky scarf. Fashion multitasking at it's best !
The pants I've been seeing everywhere, and I felt behind on the trends. :( Not anymore ! I'm excited to see what I can pair with them; it seems like my gladiator sandals will be a go to item for them.
I've been on the hunt for unique shorts, so I decided to snatch these up from consignment. They were on sale too I believe. I plan to maybe cut the bottoms for a nice beat up frayed look.
The Dooney bag I'm fairly certain is a knock off (didn't really check when I was purchasing... gah). But I do absolutely love it. It looks fairly convincing for a knock off, and it fits the prep sophisticate bag style that's in right now.
I plan to review the three beauty purchases in due time. After I've used them a fair amount. As you can see I already got to the press on nail stickers...
Speak soon all !
